Area National Expectations
Reception Good Level of Development means that a child has achieved at least the expected level in all of the following areas of the EYFS curriculum: Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Mathematics; Literacy
Phonics screening By the end of Year 1, pupils are screened for phonics knowledge. Where a child does not make the expected threshold, additional intervention will be provided throughout Year 2 when he/she will be re-screened.
Key Stage 1 By the end of Key Stage 1, children are expected to have achieved a Level 2+ in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
Key Stage 2

By the end of Key Stage 2, children are expected to have achieved a Level 4+ in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.

In addition, they are expected to have made 2 levels of progress from their staring point at the end of Key Stage 1 in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. There is also a measure to show the proportion of pupils attaining Level4+ in all three areas combined
