Wanstead Church School has been graded as an OUTSTANDING school by OFSTED.

Community

Since September 2014, the school has nominated two charities to link with. These were selected by the School Council. We wanted to have a London based charity and an international one so that we are able to see the part we play in our immediate and world communities.

You can find out more information below about each of these charities, the work they do and how we have supported them.

Last year we supported the Dream Factory and as you can see below, were able to donate money to them to support their charitable work.

As part of the school's charity and international awareness work, a number of fund raising events are held throughout the year which raise money for this charity.

In the Autumn Term of 2014, the school started to sponsor two children from schools in northern Zambia through the Beyond Ourselves Charity.

This sponsorship ensures that every child in these schools have a meal each school day, a school uniform, a salaried teacher, classroom resources and not least, basic medical care.

Both Year 5 and 6 have learnt more about Zambia and have compared and contrasted it with the United Kingdom. This has raised their understanding of how their support is used in the more disadvantaged areas of Zambia.

We are making a positive difference for these two children.
