In the middle of the story, how do the owl babies feel?
What different words could you use to describe their feelings?
How do you know? What is your evidence?
Here are some ideas to help you:
In the middle
Abandoned – their mother had gone!
Shocked and upset – “Oh my goodness!” said Percy and Bill kept saying, “I want my mummy!”
Anxious/worried/fearful – they all sat together for comfort and worried that their mother had got lost or had been eaten by a fox.
Hopeful – Sarah said, “She’ll bring us mice and things that are nice.”
