At Wanstead Church School our vision is to empower every child to approach life with Wisdom, Compassion and Strength so that they can shine in everything they do. We believe that Jesus is the light of the world and that we are called upon to let our light shine before others (Matthew 5:16).

Wanstead Church School is an over-subscribed, one-form entry Church of England primary school with Nursery situated in the heart of Wanstead. We work closely with Christ Church in the Parish of Wanstead and uphold a strong Christian ethos in all we do. Our school values underpin the children’s learning experiences at Wanstead Church School: Wisdom, Compassion, Strength. We live by our motto, "We Can Shine!"

Wanstead Church School is a happy, vibrant and inclusive place to learn and grow and we are very well supported by a strong and professional governing body, which includes members of the church community. We are very fortunate that our parents support the school generously and we are proud of our positive school community.

Our curriculum is rich, engaging and ambitious and our children achieve high standards throughout the school which prepare them well for their secondary education. The school is over 200 years old, having first been built in 1786, and has held a special place in the heart of the community ever since.
