Vision

At Wanstead Church School our vision is to empower every child to approach life with wisdom, compassion and strength so that they can shine in everything they do. We believe that Jesus is the light of the world and that we are called upon to let our light shine before others (Matthew 5:16).

We encourage our children to ask questions and to seek answers; to be curious, independent learners who show passion, enthusiasm and a life-long love of learning. Every child leaves our school equipped with life skills, practical knowledge and leadership experience that enables them to achieve life-long excellence and to be light in our world.

Compassion

Love, kindness and friendship are at the heart of our family-centred school. Our children are kind, caring and considerate. They treat others with respect. Friendships are based on a culture of forgiveness, open-mindedness and peace. Our school provides light at the heart of our community, where happiness, well-being and joy are shared and where everyone knows that they are truly cared for and valued.

Strength

Our school is deeply rooted in the Christian faith and is warmly welcoming of people of all faiths and none. We believe that faith gives us great strength, courage and resilience in all we do. We teach and show our children to follow the example that Jesus sets before us. Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12) and at Wanstead Church School our children learn to be light in our school, in our homes, in our community and in the wider world.
